A huge thank you to Gary Cawsey and his wife Julie and daughter Lola for their fundraising cake sale held in Cheltenham’s Promenade recently.

Gary, who runs The Green Coffee Machine, decked out the van in Heidi’s Heroes balloons and provided information fliers to spread the word to his customers.

Julie stayed up until nearly 1am baking fairy cakes, shortbread, flapjacks, fruit cake and all sorts of tasty goodies to sell in support of Heidi’s Heroes. And the trio’s efforts from 7.30am until 2pm coined in a tasty £270 for our funds.

Julie had heard about us through our annual Swim for Safety event that provides intensive swimming lessons for primary school pupils in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury who struggle to swim or are anxious about the water.

Gary said: “We had a great day at the van selling the cakes and the weather hold out for us. Julie and Lola spent the day before baking and Julie had a very late night, but it went very well and was all worth it.”
